Abstract

This article is to provide an introduction to Agile Scrum methodology in software development and it's utility and growing popularity in the services industry with a case study. The power of agile lies in its flexibility to meet customer needs, which are quite common in today's world. Organizations need to be prepared for changes. Unlike machines, organizations are unpredictable living systems because they are run by people. People and projects which are meant to build those products need to adapt to changing requirements while balancing risks. Agile scrum provides a framework for organizations to succeed where responsiveness to the environment is the measure of value. The role of leaders in agile organizations is to support and facilitate projects and they are not to be deemed as experts with authority. A case study is presented.
